This varietal comes from a wild Ethiopian coffee found close to the Ethiopian town of Dilla Alghe; it has been cultivated in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Jamaica by Gonzalo Hernandez. Growing this plant can be challenging as the tree is susceptible to disease. However, the outcome makes all the extra work worth it.
This fully-washed Jamaica Blue Mountain® Dilla Alghe coffee has distinct floral and honey notes, citric undertones, and delicate but bright acidity. Medium to full body, with a syrupy mouthfeel and a long, rich finish.
